Diane Spence, RN, is the director of patient care services for Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, a member of BJC HealthCare.
In her role, Spence is a member of the hospital senior leadership team and provides support for the following departments:
- Care coordination
- Critical care
- Emergency care
- House supervisors
- Inpatient care and operations
- Inpatient therapy
- Nurse float pool
- Nurse staff office
- Nutritional counseling (outpatient)
- Professional practice
- Respiratory therapy
Spence joined BJC HealthCare in 1987 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center as a staff nurse in critical care. She was promoted to nurse manager, and prior to joining Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital in 2017 was the program manager of the wound center/acute and critical care team.
Spence graduated from Missouri Baptist School of Nursing and received her bachelor of nursing degree and master of business administration from Webster University in St. Louis Missouri. She has earned professional certifications in Critical Care Nursing-Knowledge (CCRN-K) and Nurse Executive Board Certified (NE-BC).
